The relationship between lean production and intelligent manufacturing


Many enterprises have lost their way in the concept of “industry 4, intelligent manufacturing, Internet plus” and so on. In fact, both intelligent manufacturing and intelligent factories have their own implementation conditions and paths. There is no shortcut. Different industries and different enterprises will lead to different roads.

1. Lean

Lean production was originally designed for the individual needs of many varieties and small batches, and its two pillars are “just in time” and “intelligent automation”.

So far, lean has evolved into a concept and method of lean management involving marketing, R & D, supply chain, production, process and even entrepreneurship, which has led to the transformation of global industries. 2. Standardization

Standardization is the basis of automation and the premise of intelligent manufacturing.

Domestic enterprises lament the high degree of automation in the automobile industry. Why can such complex products as automobiles work, while simple products like home appliances can’t? One important reason is standardization.

3. Modularization

Automobile and computer are the earliest industries to realize modularization. From modular design, modular procurement to modular production, modularization is also the key to realize low-cost and personalized consumption in intelligent manufacturing. If it is realized, truly personalized products will become possible, such as mobile phones. Everyone’s mobile phones can be unique, and people can assemble their favorite mobile phones as if they were assembling blocks.

Modularization reduces the complexity from design, procurement to production. The standardized interface and connection mode increase the universality, reduce the manufacturing cost and cycle, and realize the automation production, logistics and information communication more easily. For example, in the past, the chargers of each mobile phone brand were different. Once the mobile phone was changed, all the chargers were thrown away, which caused great waste. Now it has been improved.

4. Automation

Automation is the most talked about in intelligent manufacturing. Many local governments and enterprises call it “machine replacement”, and have made continuous attempts, with success and failure.

Through independent innovation, enterprises can integrate the original discrete processing mode of raw material processing, connect the original independent processes through automatic production lines, implement lean continuous production, eliminate the loading and unloading, storage and handling of intermediate links, and improve the production speed and production efficiency
